From engine rooms to codebases.
I trained as a marine engineer, earning a BSc in Marine Engineering from Regional Maritime University in Ghana, and spent years on ships keeping critical systems running: engine prep, equipment logging, bunkering operations, the kind of work where a small oversight has real consequences.
That instinct for reliability carried straight into software. I've since led development at a custom software design and development company, built the website and managed the technical infrastructure for a platform connecting students and graduates with insurance organizations across a global professional network, and now own the build of a two-sided job board platform end to end: dashboards, payments, and automated workflows on Webflow and Memberstack, backed by custom JavaScript, HTML, and CSS where the platform needed more than the no-code tools could give it.
I'm currently deepening my skills in data engineering and applied AI, the next layer of the same problem: building systems that keep working without anyone having to watch them.
